Brooklynn’s Senior Pictures

Those of us who have kids have or can most likely expect to relate to this post on some level. This one is near and dear to my heart. My own senior will be graduating high school this school year! She may look all grown up here but trust me, she is still my baby! Growing up is harder on parents than on the kids I think. And this last year will be spent hanging on to the last little bit of childhood she has left as she prepares to adult for the rest of her life.

Although Brooklynn has grown up as a photographer’s kid, she doesn’t have the traditional photographer’s kid syndrome. She knows how to rock the camera! Brooklynn came to her session with a mix of ideas and outfits to capture her casual, sophisticated, and sporty sides! We chose to do most of the session in Reno, Nevada for the change of (beautiful) scenery but opted to do the sports photos at the high school which she attends.

The first location we shot at was at a park that happened to have a pickleball court. When a crew of firefighters arrived on scene to play a game of pickleball in between calls, I decided to take advantage of the prop. They gave us the go-ahead to get some shots! Mind you, during this time, the Caldor and South Lake Tahoe fires were roaring in California, just on the other side of the lake from us so we decided to take this opportunity to pay homage to all the firefighters out there risking their lives to put out those fires.

Thank you, Brooklynn, for putting up with the Mom-tog! And thank you firefighters for doing what you do to keep people, animals, and homes safe. This was such a bittersweet session to do. Honored and proud of my (baby girl) senior but at the same time sad that her childhood years are coming to an end.
